howtoifs is an independent learning website. You can read the library without creating an account.
Analytics
Section titled “Analytics”We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and subjects visitors use and to help prioritize improvements to the learning library. Measurements include page visits and interactions such as selecting an FAQ topic or viewing a question. FAQ events include the topic and question identifier; our custom FAQ events do not include text entered into the FAQ search box.
Google Analytics can use cookies and process information about your browser, device, and interactions with the site. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
Section titled “Advertising”We integrate Google AdSense to support this learning website through advertising. Ad availability depends on Google’s approval and ad-serving settings.
Google and other advertising providers may use cookies to select ads using previous visits to this website and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize advertisements based on that browsing activity.
You can manage Google’s personalized advertising through Google Ad Settings. You can also explore participating advertising providers’ opt-out options at YourAdChoices. Opting out of personalization does not necessarily remove advertisements.
See Google’s advertising technology information and privacy policy for more about its data practices. Where a consent message is presented, use its choices to manage the purposes and advertising providers you allow.
Browser storage and practice tools
Section titled “Browser storage and practice tools”The site stores your theme preference in your browser. The query lab and quiz use fictional data and run in the page; they do not connect to an IFS environment. Quiz answers are not saved by these tools. Avoid entering real customer information, credentials, or other confidential data into practice examples or search boxes.
You can use your browser settings to clear stored site data and control cookies. Blocking cookies or third-party scripts may affect analytics, advertising, or remembered preferences.
External services and links
Section titled “External services and links”The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Requests to hosting, analytics, and advertising services involve technical connection information needed by those services. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Links to IFS documentation and other external resources take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Updates
Section titled “Updates”We will update this page when the site’s use of these services changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
