Developer Studio (version 22) shows a long list of 'could not install some modules' warnings referencing missing NetBeans platform modules (progress API, options API, etc.) on startup, and doesn't work properly afterward.

Answer

Close Developer Studio, then delete the entire contents of its User Directory for that specific version (under your user profile's AppData\Roaming\DeveloperStudio\<version> folder), download a fresh installer from the Developer Portal, and reinstall. This clears out whatever partially-installed or corrupted module state caused the missing-module warnings, and a clean reinstall against an empty user directory resolves the startup issue.
