How should we read a release/update version number, and how do Early Availability (EA) and General Availability (GA) relate to each other?

Answer

Each major release ships in two stages: an Early Availability build first, followed later by the General Availability build most customers apply — treat EA as a preview/early-adopter stage of that same release rather than a separate release, and check official release communications for the current schedule rather than assuming a fixed cadence.
