In IFS Apps10, is unbundling of a replication message bundle provided as a standard feature, and does the middleware handle incoming messages centrally, or does it still require a separate Oracle service per remote site, which older/alternative architectures used and which reduces overall database performance as more sites are added?

Answer

Apps10 doesn't use the older 'unbundle a replication message bundle' mechanism at all — it uses a different, faster and less resource-intensive replication approach instead. Separately, Apps10 doesn't require a separate dedicated Oracle service to handle incoming messages from each individual remote site; it still uses queues for this, but those queues run within the WebLogic/Middleware Server cluster itself, rather than needing per-site dedicated Oracle services the way some older or alternative architectures do.
