IFS Applications 10 continued receiving updates throughout its full, multi-year support lifecycle independent of this new release. IFS 2020 R1 is a genuinely separate, new release, comparable to what an IFS Applications 'core release' meant historically, with its own independent update cadence going forward, rather than simply being another incremental update layered on top of Apps10 itself.
