Is there a way to retrieve the content of 'yellow sticky notes' (the Notes toolstrip/icon feature) via SQL for entities like Customer, Customer Order, Shipment, Invoice, or Supplier — no obvious API method or table/view could be found for this?

Answer

The sticky note's text is stored as a CLOB value across two tables — FND_NOTE_BOOK and FND_NOTE_PAGE, joined on note_id — so it can't be queried as plain text directly without extracting it via DBMS_LOB.Substr (capped at 4000 characters per call). For example, to get a Customer's note: select DBMS_LOB.Substr(text, 4000, 1) from IFSAPP.FND_NOTE_BOOK t1, IFSAPP.FND_NOTE_PAGE t2 where t1.note_id = t2.note_id and t1.lu_name = 'CustomerInfo' and t1.key_ref like '%CUSTOMER_ID=<value>%' — for other entities (Customer Order, Shipment, and so on), swap lu_name to the correct LU and key_ref to that entity's actual key pattern. Since the underlying content comes back as rich text, copying the raw output into a plain text editor and saving it with an .rtf extension is the practical way to actually view it formatted, since a SQL query tool alone will only show the raw rich-text markup.
