Separately from sticky notes, is there a way to retrieve the content of the standard 'Notes' field (not document text) via SQL for entities like Customer, Customer Order, Shipment, Invoice, or Supplier — only one relevant API method (on Customer Order specifically) could be found, with nothing similar located for other entities?

Answer

For most standard LUs where a get-method isn't available, a plain SELECT note_text FROM <ViewName> works directly — for example, SELECT note_text FROM CUSTOMER_ORDER, SELECT note_text FROM CUSTOMER_ORDER_LINE, SELECT note_text FROM SHIPMENT, or SELECT note_text FROM CUSTOMER_INFO_CONTACT. You can find the correct view name for any given screen by checking its System Info at the specific window/tab where the Notes field or checkbox is located. Invoice Notes work differently: use INVOICE_NOTE_API.Get_Note_Id(company, invoice_id) to retrieve the Note ID first, then query the FIN_NOTE_TEXT view using that ID to get the actual note text — this two-step pattern is the exception rather than the plain note_text-column approach that works for most other entities.
