Should we remove obsolete customization files after an upgrade, or leave them?

Answer

Leaving unused customization files in place is a common source of confusing "which version is live" questions later — if a file's functionality has been fully replaced and verified, remove it deliberately and record that decision, rather than leaving it as silent clutter.
