Unpublish the page configuration first' — but there's no obvious place to find or unpublish that referenced page configuration.

Answer

Go to the Custom Logical Units screen, open its 'Custom Pages' tab for that specific LU, and delete the page configuration line(s) shown there. Once the dependent page configuration is removed, the CLU's projection can be unpublished successfully.
