GTIN Basic Data and the Company's GTIN prefix have both been set up correctly, but the 'Create Automatically GTIN' option on a Catalog/Master Part is still greyed out and won't activate. What's the missing prerequisite?

Even with GTIN Basic Data and the Company GTIN prefix already correctly configured, you first need to 'Prepare' a row on that specific part's own GTIN tab — only once a row has genuinely been prepared there does the 'Create Automatically GTIN' option actually become available/active for that part.
