In a Customer Hierarchy where Customer A is subordinate to Customer B, and only Customer B has a Customer Price Group/pricelist attached (Customer A has none directly), a Sales Quotation for Customer B correctly picks up B's pricelist as the price source — but a Sales Quotation for Customer A falls straight through to the Sales Part's own price instead of inheriting B's pricelist through the hierarchy.

Answer

Customer Hierarchy-based pricing does walk upward through the hierarchy looking for a relevant price source — confirmed behavior is that it keeps going up the hierarchy levels until it reaches a level where a usable pricelist/price group is actually attached, then uses that. If a subordinate customer's quotation is instead falling through directly to the Sales Part price without picking up an ancestor's pricelist, double-check that the hierarchy relationship itself (not just the pricelist) is correctly and completely configured between the two customer records, since a broken or incomplete hierarchy link is what prevents the upward price lookup from finding the parent's pricelist at all.
