Trying to connect the IFS REST connector (for example, via Dell Boomi) to IFS Cloud fails when authenticating with OAuth2, and Basic Authentication doesn't appear to be an option at all on Cloud — what's the correct authentication approach, and what else commonly blocks these integrations once auth itself is working?

Answer

Basic Authentication isn't enabled on IFS Cloud by design — OAuth2 is the required authentication method for REST integrations like Boomi's IFS connector there, unlike some on-prem Apps10 setups where Basic auth may still be usable. Once OAuth2 authentication itself succeeds (token generation working correctly), a common next blocker for these integrations is a permissions issue rather than an authentication one: check that the specific projection your integration flow is trying to invoke has actually been granted to the service account's permission set — a service account that authenticates successfully via OAuth2 but hasn't been granted the target projection will still fail with a privilege-related error once it tries to actually query or update data.
