Answer

Format the underlying value as currency in the Lobby's data source (this is what drives the right-alignment for numeric display), and separately set that column to print in italics in the element's own design/formatting settings. Both settings need to be applied together — the data-source-level currency formatting and the element-level italic formatting — to get the combined right-aligned, italicized appearance.
