A Crystal Report Quick Report with a parameter, triggered from a custom menu (or the Quick Report's own View option) that maps the parameter correctly, doesn't show any data — even though running the same report directly in Crystal Reports Designer with the same parameter value works fine.

Answer

Check whether the report includes the CR_WEB_INIT formula/element when it was designed — Crystal Reports run through the web client specifically need this included at design time to actually initialize correctly with a passed-in parameter value; without it, the report can run and accept the parameter but still return no data when triggered through the client rather than the standalone Crystal Reports designer.
