A custom IAL, built from a SQL query joining multiple views, appears correctly in IAL Configuration after being deployed, but doesn't show up as selectable inside Quick Reporter or the Data Source Designer at all.

Answer

Reference the IAL using the specific &IAL. prefix before its view name, for example &IAL.MY_IAL_VIEW_NAME, when building a query against it in Quick Reporter or the Data Source Designer, rather than referencing the bare view name directly the way you would for an ordinary base table or view. Once referenced with that prefix, the IAL becomes usable in both tools even though it doesn't appear as directly selectable without it.
