A custom report layout prints correctly in portrait when previewed first, but comes out in landscape when printed directly without previewing.

Answer

This has been resolved by setting a fixed page width and height on the layout that match the target printer's own settings rather than leaving the layout to infer orientation — dot-matrix printers in particular are prone to this direct-print-vs-preview orientation mismatch, so pin the dimensions down explicitly rather than relying on automatic orientation detection.
