Can an IAL's WHERE clause be defined so the user is prompted to enter a value at runtime, the way a Quick Report parameter works, for example letting a condition check against a user-entered TRUE/FALSE value rather than a fixed literal?

Answer

No — an IAL is a compiled database view object with no support for &-prefixed substitution/prompt-style parameters the way a Quick Report supports user-entered parameters. A WHERE-clause condition inside an IAL's own SQL can't be made to prompt the user for a value at runtime; parameterized user input of that kind is only possible in constructs specifically designed for it, like Quick Reports, not directly inside an IAL's own view definition.
