How do you set up a Report Rule to send a Customer Invoice to a specific email address that isn't the order's normal Reference contact (who's used for confirmation emails instead), and why does the Print Dialog not show the email address even after configuring a rule?

Answer

Two different Report Rule action types cover this, and they behave differently: 'Send Email' is a server-side rule that triggers when a print job runs and emails the same generated PDF — because it's server-side, the email address it uses never appears in the Print Dialog, but it also can't have its subject/body customized (it uses the standard system email text). 'Set Property' instead sets the email address directly in the Print Dialog itself, so it's visible there, but it locks the value (the user can't change it) and still can't customize the body. If you need both — the address visible in the dialog AND a custom email body/subject — combine a 'Pre Select' action (which shows the address in the Print Dialog without locking it) with a 'Send Email' action carrying your custom body/subject, and set that Send Email action's 'Omit job print' property to true so it doesn't also trigger a second, duplicate email from the Print Dialog's own send. If emails still aren't arriving after setting this up, check that the Print Job itself completed successfully, that the resulting Application Message in IFS Connect finished without erroring (check the OUT1 and NOTIFICATION queues), and that the mail sender configuration and receiving mail server aren't blocking the message.
