Is there a way to combine multiple individually-generated invoice PDFs, each produced separately by the standard Customer Order Invoice report, into a single merged PDF file, for customers who want one consolidated backup file rather than several separate PDFs or a collective invoice?

Answer

There's no easy, built-in way to merge separately-generated PDF files together using IFS's own features or plain Oracle tooling alone. Two realistic paths to actually achieve this: (1) use a dedicated PDF-manipulation toolkit callable from Oracle, either a paid third-party PL/SQL PDF library or a custom integration built using an open-source PDF library, both of which require adding some supporting Java code into the database to do the actual merging; or (2) a more report-centric approach: add a new Custom Menu Item on the invoices screen letting a user multi-select several invoices, pass the selected invoice numbers through as report parameters to a custom Crystal Quick Report, and have that report's detail section use sub-reports that each pull the already-archived print output for one invoice from the standard invoice report's archive — this specific archive-based sub-report approach only works if it's run before the individual invoices' archived print jobs get purged from the report archive.
