Printing a report fails with a GENREPORTIO error about 'not enough space on the disk' during the XML-to-PDF transformation step, even though the report itself isn't unusually large.

Answer

PDF report generation uses disk-based temporary caching during the XSL transformation step, and this error means there isn't enough free space at whatever location that caching is happening — normally the Windows TEMP or TMP environment variable's target folder on the Application Server, since Java uses the OS temp directory by default. Either free up disk space on the drive that environment variable points to, or repoint the TEMP/TMP environment variable to a different disk/location with sufficient free space — this resolves the error regardless of whether it was triggered by a genuinely large report or a disk that's simply running low on space.
