Changing an expired login password sometimes fails with a generic 'Something went wrong while changing password' message that doesn't explain what was actually wrong with the new password (like a missing required symbol) — is there a way to get a more specific, actionable error message instead?

Answer

No — this isn't currently configurable, including through the Oracle Profile password-verification settings; the generic message is what's returned regardless of which specific password-policy rule (missing symbol, length, reuse, etc.) caused the rejection. If a more descriptive validation message is genuinely needed, that's a product enhancement to raise with IFS Product Development rather than something adjustable through existing configuration.
