IFS Cloud environments no longer seem to use the classic Oracle Profile for password-expiration and related settings, even though a related System Parameter still references Oracle Profiles existing — where is password policy actually configured in Cloud, and can password expiration still be set?

Answer

In IFS Cloud, password policies for users are configured through a dedicated Password Policies screen instead of Oracle Profiles, since Cloud users are provisioned as IAM users rather than local Oracle database accounts — Oracle Profiles aren't the mechanism controlling this anymore even though older System Parameters may still reference them. Depending on when your Cloud track was checked, some policy options that existed under classic Oracle Profiles (like an explicit password-expiry date, lockout-policy settings, or having different policies for different user groups via separate profiles) may not yet have full equivalents in the Password Policies screen — if a specific policy control seems to be missing, it's worth checking current release notes or raising it with support, since this area has continued to be built out over time.
