Is genuine row-level data security possible in IFS — for example, restricting which Customer records a user can see based on a field value on the Customer record itself — without a full code customization?

Answer

Not out of the box — IFS doesn't have a generic configuration-only row-level security mechanism for arbitrary field values. Restricting visibility to specific records based on data (rather than structural boundaries like Company/Site) requires either a targeted client customization for the screens involved, or building on Oracle's Row Level Security (RLS) database feature as a broader framework if you need it applied consistently across many screens — both are real, implemented approaches, but both require development work, not configuration.
