Setting up SSO/Azure AD in IFS Cloud for the first time — what's the difference between the 'AD User Mappings' screen and 'Create New Identity Provider', and which one actually establishes the connection to Azure AD?

Answer

AD User Mappings is a downstream configuration step (used for things like Analysis Model setup), not where you connect to Azure AD. The actual SSO connection is configured through the External Identity Provider setup — that's the screen (Create New Identity Provider or similar) where you register Azure AD as an external IdP for authentication.
