The IFSWEBCONFIG internal system account doesn't have a password-change option in the Installer the way other internal accounts (IFSPRINT, IFSCONNECT, IFSSYS, IFSPLSQLAP, IFSADMIN) do, yet an encrypted password value for it still appears in configuration.xml — does this password actually need to be changed or kept in sync somewhere?

Answer

No — IFSWEBCONFIG's password isn't required or used during installation or reconfiguration, and the encrypted value sitting in configuration.xml is just a default placeholder that's never actually changed by those processes. The IFS Web Client does use the IFSWEBCONFIG account, but no authentication is actually performed with it, so there's no working password to keep synchronized and no reconfiguration needed to 'fix' it.
