A customer's environment needs its public URL changed (for example, after a company name change or rename), or needs a second custom URL added alongside the existing one — is either of these something that can be self-served, or does it require going through IFS?

Answer

Both changing an existing environment's URL and adding a second custom URL to one environment require raising a support case with IFS (an 'Ask a Question'-type case is the right starting point) — this isn't something configurable directly by the customer. For a URL change, provide both the previous and desired new URLs in the case; the team that handles it depends on whether the environment is hosted in IFS Cloud or by a third-party hosting provider. Adding a second URL to one environment is technically supported in the remote-deployment model (which does allow defining more than one URL), but whether it's supported for fully IFS-hosted environments needs to be confirmed with IFS case by case.
