A nightly background job for creating and delivering shipments mostly succeeds, but a few of the jobs intermittently fail with ORA-00060 ('deadlock detected while waiting for resource') — what can be done to prevent this?
A Scheduled Database Task parameter that should compute a value a set number of years in the future (like #NUMBER_OF_THIS_YEAR#+5 for a NUMBER-type parameter) doesn't actually perform the addition — it passes the literal, unevaluated expression through as-is, even though the same kind of calculation (like sysdate+22) works fine on a DATE-type parameter elsewhere.
Custom PL/SQL code (in a customization) references a generated Custom Field/Custom Entity package (like Shop_Ord_Cfp.Modify__), and the database deployment fails in Cloud because that generated package doesn't exist yet at delivery/install time, before the custom objects have been published.
Developer Studio can't display or open a project after it's created — it throws a low-level Windows file-system exception (something like 'FileSystemException... reparse point buffer is invalid') referencing a specific folder deep inside the project structure, and even Windows Explorer can't open that same folder directly.
In older on-prem releases, request timeout parameters could be changed through application configuration screens — how do you change the equivalent timeout settings in IFS Cloud, where the F1 documentation doesn't make it clear?
IAM stops running with an error like 'No certificates are loaded for database-certs,' with no application-side changes made beforehand — what would cause this?
Referencing a custom IAL (Information Access Layer) view directly as a Lobby Data Source fails with an 'unable to find' error for the IAL's name, no matter how the reference is prefixed (&AO., &IAL., schema-qualified, etc.).
Creating a simple read-only custom attribute on a Custom Logical Unit that pulls a field from a base table (like JT_TASK) fails, even though the exact same SQL works fine when tested directly in the SQL Query Tool.
Is it possible to create a Persistent custom field with a default value in IFS Cloud?
A Scheduled Task set up with a Custom expression of SYSDATE+14 (to run every 14 days) and a specific future Start Date doesn't actually run on that Start Date — the calculated 'Next Execution' comes out one day early and doesn't respect the intended start time either.
Is there a character limit on the SQL statement used in an Execute Online SQL-type custom action, and if a statement is unexpectedly truncated or rejected, could that be why?
Custom database views built on top of IFS views (to expose Custom Field data for external BI/SSIS extracts) intermittently fail with ORA-04068/ORA-04061/ORA-04065 ('existing state of package has been discarded/invalidated'), but re-running the exact same script immediately afterward works fine.
An 'Object Details' RMB context menu (intended to navigate from a Change Order Action line to the Product Structure screen) doesn't appear, even though an Object Connection has been set up for it.
Using Test-a-rest to call a status-change bound action (like SetHidden) with a Create command and a Using clause fails with 'URI is malformed,' even though the same pattern works for other simpler requests.
The IFS Cloud Web DevTools extension shown in IFS Academy training material doesn't appear in the client's own Add-Ons list on either 21R1 or 22R1 — which release introduced it, and how is it actually installed?
After a Cloud environment recovers from an unplanned outage (503 Service Unavailable, requiring a host reboot to bring it back), the usual diagnostic logs (mtctl-style logs, database alert logs, Event Viewer) don't show anything useful, since most of what's captured only starts after the restart — where else can you look to find the actual root cause?
Doing middle-tier integration development against a Cloud environment requires Docker/runtime repository connection details that aren't obviously surfaced anywhere in the client — where do you find this information?
Running the remote-deployment PowerShell setup's .\main.ps1 -resource 'KUBERNETES' step fails, even though the preceding -resource 'KEY' step completed successfully and manual SSH from the management server to the middle-tier server works (albeit still prompting for a password).
IFS Cloud remote installation on an Azure VM fails during the ifs-ingress setup step, with an error that the JFrog Artifactory Helm chart repository isn't reachable or valid ('403 Forbidden' fetching its index).
Is there a working example of registering a Custom Event (with its parameters) via PL/SQL — for example, using Fnd_Event_API.Register_Custom_Event and Fnd_Event_Parameter_API.Register — rather than building it up from documentation alone?
What's the recommended component type to use in a new customization module's deploy.ini (the old 'Cust' type doesn't seem to be documented as valid anymore for IFS Cloud), and how does the IFS Installer decide whether to treat a component as a fresh install versus an existing/upgrade during deployment?
A customer's environment needs its public URL changed (for example, after a company name change or rename), or needs a second custom URL added alongside the existing one — is either of these something that can be self-served, or does it require going through IFS?
A customization adds a new enumeration in one component and references it from an entity/view in a second component (a dynamic, not static, dependency between the two) — deployment intermittently fails with errors like 'invalid identifier' on the referencing view or API package, depending on which component happens to deploy first.
A projection or custom entity fails with a generic {"error":{"code":"ODP_ILLEGAL_STATE","message":"Unable to fulfill the request due to unexpected ODP state."}} error, with no other detail to go on.
The IFSAPP_DATA tablespace filled up because of an oversized TRANSACTION_SYS_LOCAL_TAB (the background-jobs table), and after reducing the number of jobs via system parameters, the table's row count in the client dropped back down — but the tablespace itself hasn't shrunk, and the table's actual row count at the database level is still far higher than what's shown in IFS.
After a Cloud release moves from Early Access (EA) to General Availability (GA), Developer Studio still flags a target-version mismatch because the downloaded core source files' build.properties is marked with an '-EA' suffix — does this mean the environment (or the downloaded source) is actually still running Early Access code rather than GA?
The IFS Cloud database installer command fails with ORA-28009 ('connection as SYS should be as SYSDBA or SYSOPER'), even though the pre-installation steps (including the Oracle database installation itself) were completed.
What's the quickest way to look up which component/module a given database view belongs to, without searching through documentation?
On the old Windows client, the System Info panel could show which database view backed a given form — is there an equivalent way to find the underlying SQL view behind a Web (Aurena) page?
The Supported Platforms documents for various IFS Cloud releases used to be on an internal SharePoint site, and access to that site has been lost — where are they published now?
Besides deferring the actual logic to a background job (which doesn't work when the code genuinely needs to run online / block the UI until it completes), what other options exist for working around a mutating-table error inside a Custom Event's PL/SQL?
Background jobs stop being posted entirely (even though schedules are still marked active), and investigation shows the underlying BATCH_SYS.PROCESS_BATCH_SCHEDULE_ database process is missing — how do you recreate it without hand-writing the recreation script?
Adding ROWKEY to large tables as part of an Apps8-to-Apps10 upgrade is taking an extremely long time — what's the recommended approach for handling this kind of heavy schema change on huge tables during an upgrade?
Two custom attributes are added to an entity (for example, a Coach ID selected via an LOV, and a Coach Name) — how do you get the second attribute (Name) to automatically populate once a value is selected in the first (ID) LOV, without writing dedicated autofill logic?
How do Custom Attributes in IFS Cloud actually compare to Custom Fields in Apps10 — is the underlying data/metadata preserved on upgrade, and what should someone experienced with Apps10 customization expect to be different (or harder) when working with the same kind of customization in Cloud?
A Custom Event's condition (built around a SQL comparison using a substitution variable like &NEW:NCR_NO) works correctly when the triggering record isn't connected to a related object, but throws ORA-01722 ('Invalid Number') once it is connected — even though running the exact same SELECT statement directly in Oracle evaluates correctly and returns the expected result.
Beyond checking disk space, checking for invalid objects, pausing antivirus, reading the installation documentation, and testing in DEV/Test first, what else is worth doing before applying an IFS delivery/patch installation?
A scheduled report set to run as a specific user (the 'initiator') fails once that user's license is removed — what's the best way to get the report running again and prevent it from breaking the same way if that user account changes status again?
IFS Cloud's auth endpoints are tied to a specific Kubernetes namespace — is there an easier way to find that namespace value than running kubectl commands against the cluster?
