The technical documentation lists every possible parameter for every module in ifscloud-values.yaml, but it's unclear which ones actually need to be included in a given deployment's file versus left out. Does every parameter shown for an active module (per solutionset.yaml) need to be explicitly set?

Answer

No — the general rule is to only include entries in ifscloud-values.yaml for parameters that are either mandatory (usually marked in bold in the documentation) or that need to deviate from the global defaults; everything else can be left out and will fall back to its default. For example, if every pod should run with the same replica count, set only global.replicas at the top level rather than repeating it under every individual component; only add a component-specific block (like ifsappodata: replicas: 3) when that specific component genuinely needs a different value than the global default. A values.yaml file that explicitly lists a parameter for every container regardless of whether it deviates from default is usually just a copy of a file prepared for a specific prior sizing/configuration, not a required template to keep replicating.
