An OData GET for translatable basic data (like a Commodity Group) always returns the description in the environment's default language, even when I need it in a different language (e.g. German) that's set up as a translation in the application. How do I get the translated value via the REST API?

Answer

Add an Accept-Language header to the request, set to the target language's RFC 3066 code (for example de-DE for German) — the correct code for each language configured in your environment can be found on the Used Languages page. This works generally across IFS's OData projections for translatable basic data, not just Commodity Groups, wherever a translation for that language actually exists in the application.
