Calling an external REST endpoint from PL/SQL via the REST sender API and then trying to read its response body back out (like extracting an access token) by matching on message text or timing is unreliable — is there a more dependable way to correlate a specific response back to its request?

Answer

Rather than matching on recent timestamp and message text, use a dedicated message function/service name for that specific call and query the application message record filtered on that function together with a Finished state, then pull the response body from the corresponding message-body sequence — filtering on a specific function name plus completion status is a far more reliable correlation key than a time-window-and-text match, especially under any kind of concurrent load.
