The exact same report layout produces noticeably different overall line spacing on a generated PDF depending on which language is selected when previewing (e.g. English versus German), with no Report Rule involved that would explain a formatting difference — what else could be causing this?

Answer

Check Report Font > Font Mapping for a language-specific font substitution being applied for the language showing different spacing — comparing the actual embedded font names in each generated PDF's own Properties > Fonts tab (for each language) confirms whether a different font is genuinely being substituted for that language. Separately, check the layout itself in Report Designer for a property condition that deliberately applies different line spacing based on the report's language — this would be a deliberate design choice baked into the layout rather than a bug. If neither of those explains it, it's also possible the same nominal font simply renders that language's characters with different average glyph width/spacing (e.g. German text can visually take up more horizontal and vertical space than English for the same content), producing a genuine visual difference without any actual misconfiguration.
