How can multiple elements be placed together inside a single container ('green box') in Lobby design mode, rather than each new element automatically getting its own separate one-to-one container?

Look for the large grey arrow control shown in the Lobby designer — use it to merge or group a newly added element into an existing container alongside another element, rather than trying to directly drag-and-drop a new element straight inside an already-occupied container, which doesn't work and is why each element otherwise ends up in its own separate box.
