Two custom fields sit side by side on a form, and one of their labels needs to be hidden (so the two fields visually read as one combined label followed by both fields), but there's no obvious layout option to remove just one field's label — is this achievable?

There's an undocumented way to do this: edit the relevant profile directly and set that specific field's TopLabel property value to a large negative number, like -100 — this effectively pushes the label off-screen, hiding it without removing the field itself. It isn't a supported, documented layout option, but it's a known way to achieve a hidden-label effect for cases like this.
