Check for an overlapping repeater element on the sheet, especially if any content was copy-pasted between sheets in that workbook — an overlapping repeater left behind from a copy-paste between sheets has caused exactly this kind of unclear Save failure, with the error message giving no indication of the actual problem. Removing or repositioning the overlapping repeater so it no longer conflicts with another element on the sheet resolves the save failure.
