What does the 'Method Name' field actually control in an Object Connection, since changing it doesn't seem to visibly affect anything?
A delivery installation gets stuck indefinitely at a fixed progress percentage while copying client.war to the instance's ear/main directory, with no further progress and no error shown.
The Database Alert Log started showing 'ORA-06511: PL/SQL: cursor already open' errors originating from Object_Connection_Sys/Doc_Reference_Object_Api, triggered whenever a user's screen has an Object Connection to DocReferenceObject and the Attachment pane is involved — this started suddenly without any obviously related recent change.
Are there any real limitations or risks to be aware of with IALs — specifically, could creating a lot of them impact overall IFS performance, and which user account actually executes an IAL's SQL when it's scheduled (since I might not personally have access to all the data the IAL needs to pull)?
A Customer Order Lines table has grown to over 600,000 rows, with more than 540,000 of them cancelled (mostly from EDI) — is moving these cancelled lines into a separate Custom Logical Unit (to lighten the main tables/views while preserving them for historical/analysis purposes) the right approach?
Auto-sending an email with a PDF report attached (via Command_SYS.Mail and Pdf_Archive_API.Get_Id) works, but the attached PDF's filename comes through as a generic/default name — how do you set a custom filename for the attachment?
Creating a custom Event directly against HISTORY_LOG_TAB (to react to history-log entries being created) causes History Logging itself to stop working the moment the event is enabled — disabling the custom event immediately restores normal history logging.
What's a reasonable way to think about sizing a REF (reference/testing) environment's disk space, especially for the database VM, when there's no obvious formula based on user count alone?
How do you find out what custom events already exist for a specific standard page, like Sales Quotation, without already knowing the underlying Logical Unit name?
Is there a recommended upper limit on how many printers can be configured on a single IFS Print Agent, and is it possible (or advisable) to run multiple separate Print Agents connected to the same IFS system?
How do you set up Developer Studio with Docker to actually debug a projection's Java implementation code (FunctionsImpl.java/ActionsImpl.java), rather than just deploying it and hoping the logic is correct?
The password for the built-in WebLogic/ifs account used to log into the Middleware Server Admin Console has been forgotten — is a full Middleware Server reinstall really the only way to recover access, or is there a way to reset or recover it?
Building a Custom Menu to transfer from a line on Sales Quotation Lines to its associated Business Opportunity opens the Business Opportunity window correctly but shows it blank, since the Business Opportunity Number is stored in the underlying view (ORDER_QUOTATION) but isn't actually displayed as a field on the Sales Quotation Lines overview window.
System Info for a specific nested control on a standard window shows it belonging to a different component than the tab it's inside — for example, a tab that's gated by one component (like SRM), containing an inner section System Info attributes to a completely different component (like CRM) — is this an inconsistency in how System Info reports component ownership?
A routing operation's note field shows the actual text when viewed in the client, but querying the underlying view/table for that column returns a number (a note ID) instead of the actual text string — how do you retrieve the real text value in SQL on IFS9?
How do you delay/extend how long Application Messages take to expire and be cleaned up on Apps10, and are there any downsides to doing so?
Is it possible to prevent all outgoing emails from being sent anywhere in an Apps10 environment — from Statement of Account, Print Dialog email actions, and everywhere else that can trigger an email — for example, to make a test/demo/training environment safe from accidentally emailing real customers or suppliers?
Is it possible to add custom fields to Aurena screens built on 'virtual' entities/Logical Units (ones not backed by a real database table, sometimes named with a 'Virtual' suffix, like DocumentFileVirtual or a similar Aurena B2B entity), the same way custom fields work on regular entities?
32 new Scheduled Database Task records were created and deliberately set to inactive (since the branches they relate to won't go live until a future date), but they've since disappeared from the Scheduled Database Tasks screen entirely, with no indication of why.
Print Manager suddenly starts taking 3-5 minutes to process print jobs that previously completed in 10-30 seconds, with mostly Crystal-based reports involved, and no obvious recent change to the environment.
A read-only Select-statement custom field on a standard Logical Unit throws an error, and the fix turns out to involve a completely different, already-Approved view under that same LU's Approved Detail Views list — why would an unrelated approved view cause this?
Is it possible to enable History Logging on a Custom Logical Unit, to track things like a user deleting a record from it?
Writing a custom Event that inserts a new row into a table (like RESERVED_LOT_BATCH_TAB) needs to generate a proper rowkey for that new row — which API or function should be used to generate it?
Updating a persistent custom field via PL/SQL using the standard *_CFP.Cf_Modify__ pattern (passing the raw value through Client_SYS.ADD_TO_ATTR) works fine for a plain free-entry custom field, but fails silently (or doesn't apply) when the target is a reference-type persistent custom field instead.
Triggering an Order Report to be generated and emailed automatically as part of a process (like when a sales quotation's approval completes) works for generating the report via archive_api.new_client_report, but the generated PDF isn't available to attach to an email within that same PL/SQL block — and separately, is there a way to combine multiple generated reports into a single email rather than getting one email per report?
A custom Event triggers when a record (like a Mixed Payment) changes, and needs to update a persistent custom field on that same record via the standard *_CFP.Cf_Modify__ pattern — but the record's OBJID isn't available among the event's own attributes, so fetching it via a cursor mid-event causes ORA-04091 mutating-table errors.
IFS consultants have recommended using Logical Unit IDs (like Part Number) as meaningful, functional identifiers referenced across different parts of the business process — but as a data admin, this raises concerns: some IDs can't be system-defaulted (users must type them in directly), a record's own ID can't be corrected via a trigger before insert, and once saved, an ID generally can't be changed except by deleting or cancelling the record entirely. Is this understanding correct, and is relying on user-entered IDs as functional fields actually sound practice?
The Application/Admin Server is generating enormous log files (multiple gigabytes in a single day) driven by repeated errors like PINGDATABASE set up for pool 'fndbas_admin' failed with exception: pingDatabase returns not OK — what's actually going on, and how is it fixed?
Google Chrome is the recommended browser for Aurena on Apps10 — is Microsoft Edge supported now or planned to be supported in the future, given the advantages of using Edge for organizations standardized on the Microsoft stack?
A barcode font (3of9) copied from Production to a Test environment, along with the Crystal Report that uses it, doesn't print the barcode correctly on the Test server (Windows Server 2019) even though everything else about the report prints fine.
An on-premise HTTP Server log repeatedly shows 'Lowering WLMaxWebSocketClients... Increase ThreadsPerChild to support more connections,' and doubling the ThreadsPerChild parameter didn't stop the message from appearing — what does this parameter actually control, and how should it be sized?
Are there any special considerations when installing Oracle 19c on a Windows Server that already has Oracle 12c installed, for example during a database-version upgrade planning phase?
A custom field created to hold a number with 4 decimal places gets automatically truncated to 2 decimal places by the time it's saved to the database, even though a plain NUMBER column should easily support far more precision — is there a way to store more than 2 decimal places?
With Developer desktops being withdrawn for IFS Cloud, is there (or will there be) a Mac build of IFS Developer Studio available, for developers wanting to work natively on macOS rather than through a Windows VM?
Is it possible to get a value from a screen field (like a Part Number or Project ID) into a PL/SQL variable for use in a custom SQL block — similar to how Oracle APEX lets you reference a page item as a bind variable?
A user gets 'ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected - got -' trying to approve a leave request in My Absence Calendar — what would generally cause this kind of datatype-mismatch error, and how do you start diagnosing it?
Is there a way to deactivate/hide specific icons on the IEE Page toolbar, such as the Charts or Notes icons, for example to simplify the toolbar for certain users or screens?
In IAL Object Developer, the Delete button for an existing, no-longer-used IAL stays greyed out/inactive no matter what — how do you actually delete it?
Report Designer suddenly stops opening any layouts at all — no errors, no warnings, the layout just doesn't open — coinciding with an unrelated Visual Studio update, even though a coworker who did the same update has no issue.
