How do you open the Debug Console in Enterprise Explorer (Apps10)?
Query Builder just spins indefinitely and never loads (IFS10 UPD8) — what's a way to actually diagnose and fix this rather than just waiting or restarting?
Is there a way to work with dates/times as an integer in PL/SQL or Client (page) scripts — for example to get the difference in hours between two date/time values, similar to JavaScript's Date.getTime()? Subtracting two dates directly just returns another date.
IFS documentation notes that Oracle has its own built-in scheduled job for gathering table statistics (GATHER_STATS_JOB), and IFS also has its own equivalent scheduled job — using both at the same time isn't recommended. How do you find which one is active, and how can statistics be checked or gathered manually for a specific object while diagnosing a performance issue?
A freshly built test/training environment installs without any errors, but logging in as the application owner afterward returns an 'Operation timed out' error. What's a good first thing to check?
When creating a brand-new entity/table in Developer Studio that needs a sequence-generated key (rather than reusing an existing key generator), where do you actually define the Oracle SEQUENCE (and any supporting INDEX), given that hand-editing a `.storage` file isn't something normally done directly in PL/SQL Developer?
Configuring the newer .NET-based Print Agent, the connection status keeps showing 'Disconnected' regardless of what's entered in the ID field or after updating the IFSPRINT password. What's the correct setup sequence?
IFS MWS shows the error 'Session is locked by ifs. But no pending changes exist. Release configuration to allow edit' — reconfiguring the whole application clears it, but is there a less disruptive way to release this specific lock?
After installing a new SSL certificate and running Reconfigure, the log shows a line about creating the keystore, but the actual `ifsKeystore.jks` file under the OHS instance's keystores folder never gets updated or regenerated — even after renaming/removing the old file and rerunning Reconfigure.
`Command_SYS.Mail` fails when called from PL/SQL with plain text parameters (from_user_name_, to_user_name_, text_, attach_, subject_), even though sending mail from the Events tab UI works fine with the same underlying mail server settings. What's wrong with the PL/SQL call?
In a multi-node Apps9/10 environment (separate Touch Apps server, database server, print server, and Connect/integration server), is there documented guidance for applying a new/renewed SSL certificate specifically to the Touch Apps server component?
In Aurena, is there a fixed, predictable relationship between a page's Projection name and the underlying PL/SQL package name, and how do you actually find the package/LU behind a given Aurena page?
Is the application server required to be joined to a Windows domain in order to install an SSL certificate on an Apps9 application server?
Very large log files (tens of GB each) are being created nightly on the middleware server and eating up disk space. What are these files, can their size be controlled, and is it safe to delete them?
A Custom Event meant to validate one just-entered field's value against another field entered in the very same transaction (e.g. comparing a newly entered custom Net Weight against a newly entered standard Gross Weight on the same save) can't actually see the sibling field's just-entered value when it runs inside an autonomous transaction. Why, and how is this validation actually implemented?
A `raise_application_error()` call inside a custom PL/SQL procedure correctly raises an error when run manually in a SQL terminal, but the same procedure called by a Background Job doesn't seem to produce any visible error for the user at all. Is there a different way error handling needs to be done specifically for code that runs as a background job?
Calling the auto-generated `Modify__` or `Remove__` API method on a Custom Logical Unit's table (a `_CLT`-suffixed table) always fails with 'MODIFIED2: The object has been modified by another user,' even though the record genuinely hasn't been touched by anyone else, and even though the equivalent `New__` insert call and standard-table/custom-field-table Modify calls all work correctly. What's actually different about Custom LU tables here?
For an IFS Applications installation running on an Azure VM (rather than IFS-managed cloud), what should a backup strategy actually cover, and how often — is Azure's own built-in VM backup service sufficient on its own for the database?
Is there a way to declare a dynamic component dependency on another component/module when that other component is a customized module that might not actually be installed in every environment — since a genuine dynamic dependency normally relies on referencing that other module's auto-generated `component_<modulename>_sys` package, which won't exist if the module isn't installed?
Installing the IEE Development Tools for Visual Studio completes without errors, but building the resulting solution afterward fails with assembly-file-missing errors. What's a good general troubleshooting checklist for this?
A background job submitted to batch queue_id=4 (Touch Apps push) consistently executes within a few seconds, but an equivalent job submitted to a newly created queue, configured with what appear to be the same parameters, consistently runs much slower. Is queue_id=4 specifically prioritized by the framework?
Calling a database object belonging to another component/module from Developer Studio produces a 'No Dependency Found' error, even after clearing and refreshing the code-completion cache.
Exporting a Lobby (with its Data Sources) from one environment and importing it into another sometimes results in duplicated Data Sources in the target environment. Is there a way to clean this up without rebuilding the Lobby from scratch?
The application's built-in search suddenly returns a search error across some or all search results, with no other obvious cause.
Custom fields on a Logical Unit, transferred into a new environment via an Application Configuration Package (ACP) import and successfully validated into an Approved state, fail to publish afterward with 'COMPILE_ERROR2: Error during compilation of LU [...]', appearing related to the LU's extended custom view (CFV).
Is it possible to add an extra column to one of the built-in IFS List-Of-Values (LOV) popups, such as the Supplier LOV used on the Purchase Order Supplier field?
Inserting a custom History row that includes a date attribute, built for `client_sys.attr_value_to_date` to later parse back into a date, keeps coming out wrong, no matter whether `to_date(SYSDATE)` or an explicit `to_date(SYSDATE, '<format>')` is used as the input.
An exported database-task delivery file (a `.ins` file) needs to be deployed from a test environment into production for the first time — is this run through PL/SQL, and if so with what command?
On an older Apps8-era environment, a Custom Menu's PL/SQL block that directly references a database SEQUENCE's NEXTVAL fails with 'Illegal SQL rejected... Illegal column <SEQUENCE_NAME>.NEXTVAL' — why is a plain sequence reference blocked here, and what's a working alternative?
After copying/refreshing a database, for example moving Apps9 onto a newer Oracle release for the first time, background job processing starts throwing ORA-04031 'unable to allocate shared memory ("shared pool"...)' errors, with the stack trace pointing into core framework packages like Dictionary_SYS and Domain_SYS.
A Test environment's application server is already at Update 17, but after refreshing its database from a Live backup that's still at Update 16, the two are now mismatched, producing errors like a wrong-number-of-arguments mismatch. Is it possible to run just the database portion of the Update 17 delivery against this database, without re-running the full application-server update?
Background jobs kicked off via `Transaction_SYS.Deferred_Call` sometimes take unexpectedly long to actually execute, and in the meantime the line/record they depend on gets closed by a user before the job runs, causing the job to fail. Is there a good way to prevent this timing race?
After cloning a Live environment into Test and upgrading its Oracle database, for example from 12c to 19c, every Crystal Report fails with 'No PDF report returned from Crystal Web Service,' even though system parameters correctly point at the new Test environment, IFSPRINT's permissions are confirmed correct, and opening the same report directly in Crystal Reports Designer connects and runs fine. The Crystal Web Service log shows a database error with Vendor Code 12154 ('failed to open the connection').
Setting up a scheduled Migration Job with its output File Location set to write to a specific server folder, the output doesn't end up where expected — there's an LOV showing some already-configured file paths, but no obvious screen to add a new one to that list.
What's the actual difference between running Synchronize Application Search Index and Optimize Application Search Index — Optimize took about 2 hours in a test environment, but Synchronize ran for far longer and had to be killed; what is each one actually doing?
As a customer, not an IFS employee or partner, is there a public download link or self-service way to obtain IFS Developer Studio, since the documented internal file-share path referenced in IFS's technical documentation isn't reachable?
Installing the Microsoft Project add-in for IFS Project integration produces 'Customized functionality in this application will not work because the certificate used to sign the deployment manifest... is not trusted' — does this mean the certificate bundled with the IFS install itself is invalid?
When IFS Applications 10 core updates are deployed, are Aurena's Global Context and any Custom/Named Contexts automatically kept in alignment with the new update, or do they need to be manually reviewed/updated after each update?
How much reverse-proxy complexity is actually involved in fronting a Touch App Server with a reverse proxy — is it materially different between Apps9 and Apps10?
